5 Tips for Personal Transformation
TIP #1: Embrace the Pain
Your emotions, body and mind will be vulnerable. You’ll hit some obstacles on the way, but you will be better for it. Push pass the pain period.
The Terminator once recalled his bodybuilding days and said, “The last three or four reps is what makes the muscles grow. This area of pain divides a champion from someone who is not a champion. That’s what most people lack, having the guts to go on and just say they’ll go through the pain no matter what happens.”
All the bruises along the way will be worth it in the end. It will be something to be proud of.
TIP #2: Take Off the Lid
Perception is reality. Your limits are self imposed. As long as you are aware of this, the things you can accomplish will be endless.
TIP #3: Understand that Obstacles are Part of the Journey
Randy Pausch, famous for his Last Lecture, stated that walls you encounter in your lifetime are their for a reason.
Barriers and walls are made to keep people out who do not desire it hard enough. Be the one who makes it happen! If you put your mind to it, anything is possible.
TIP #4: Be a Beginner and Be an Expert
The master is always open to learning and reexamining the foundations of a given skill. Don’t shut yourself out if tasks seem too easy and make sure to keep your ears open for the more skilled lessons. Be on alert as these priceless opportunities can arise at any moment.
Tip #5: Dream BIG
Make short span goals that build to your long term goal. You will feel more accomplished which will help you work harder to reach the big one! Refer to earlier tip #2… Reach as high as possible and you will surprise yourself everytime.
Take a moment and ask yourself “What did I want to be when I grew up?” Did you answer an astronaut or professional sports player? You need to reactivate the dreamer part of your personality.
Have the courage to use your imagination and dream up those ideas, otherwise how will you ever make them a reality? You are the exception. Now go get it!
